Question to Candidates?

On the eve of the Municipal Election in Smithers I would like to share with you a question I asked all the candidates running for office tomorrow. It is a simple ask, something that so many Canadians are wondering about but none had the guts to ask during the debate at the Della Herman theater the other night. The only question that came near this was pointed and slanted for obvious reasons, oh so transparent.

So my Question in email to them all, granted I only asked it Wednesday night at 9pm, is a simple one and an answer would not take much time. I must have been wrong as only 2 Candidates responded, they may be very clear and capable communicators while the others are struggling with it. At any rate if I do hear from others prior to the end of the election tomorrow I will update the post.

The Question:

" Do you fully support the right of each Canadian citizen to choose freely without fear of discrimination and segregation as guaranteed by our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, without reservation."

The two clear communication were from Nick Brier and Murray Hawse. Both answered with a very clear and simple "yes".

Thank you to both of you for making it clear where you stand. Our country needs leaders like you two.
